BALUN / MODTAP

A BALUN or MOD TAP is a telcoms adapter for use with structured cabling. They have an RJ45 Plug and provide a BT Socket so that telephones with a BT Line Cord can connect to structured cabling back to a suitable telephone system extension. There are two types of BALUN, MASTER and SECONDARY. MASTER BALUN usually has a capacitor built in and is commonly used for ANALOGUE Telephones SECONDARY BALUN is usually used for digital system telephones.
