The Teltonika RUT500 is the latest evoloution of the popular Teltonika router and replaces the Teltonika RUT104 and RUT105 models. This advanced 3G Router has been vastly improved to provide an even more reliable and easy to use M2M 3G router solution for all of your remote monitoring and management applications such as providing remote connectivity to your DVR over 3G for your CCTV application, water and energy monitoring including solar and wind energy monitoring and management, and it is also ideal for managing content for remote media / digital signage applications. The Teltonika RUT500 uses a new high speed HSPA+ module providing 3.5G data connectivity with download speeds up to 21Mbps and upload speeds up to 5.76Mbps and has a faster CPU than previous models for improved data throughput. A new web interface provides for easier configuration and there are several new features including SMS reboot and SMS stauts reports. Configuring the RUT500 for port forwarding is quick and simple and the RUT500 inlcudes all the normal router firewall and VPN functionality with advanced IP routing available for the advanced user. The RUT500 also includes some physical changes, the small form, robust aluminium casing now inlcudes a DIN Rail mounting kit for easy and convenient mounting as well as extra LAN ports with a total of 3 x 10/100 Ethernet LAN ports and an additional WAN port so the router can be used to provide 3G Failover for example when the WAN port is connected to another router the RUT500 can be configured to use the wired WAN port for its primary internet connection and automatically failover to 3G if internet connectivity is unavailable via the WAN port. The Teltonika RUT500 also improves on previous models by providing new high speed N Wireless WiFi connectivity with all the normal wireless security protocols. The Teltonika RUT500 router is supplied with a magnetic mount antenna which uses a standard SMA connection and the router is also supplied with a fixed style WiFi antenna as well as a second 3g antenna which is also the fixed style elbow joint antenna - this gives the user the option of using the fixed type antenna or the magnetic mount antenna as required. There is also an auxilliary GSM/3G port so a second antenna can be connected (this can be seen in the product images) but in our opinion the Aux 3G antenna rarely needs to be used and does not provide significant improvement in signal reception.
